A Legal Document that allows one person ("Principal") to choose someone else ("Agent") to act in their BEST INTEREST for Financial or Medical Decision-Making.
Financial - Can be any act or duty legal under the laws of your State. The uses range from as small as paying bills on behalf of someone else and as large as the buying and selling of real estate. The Durable, General, and Limited Forms all are associated with financial matters in different ways and are legal in all 50 States.
Medical - Can be any Health Care decision legal under the laws of your State. Upon the incapacitation of the Principal, (Incapacitation is described as a licensed medical physician determining that a person cannot make decisions on their own with a clear mind), the Agent is required to take control of the active and on-going determinations of health care; treatments, facilities, and if expressed in the Medical POA Form, terminating one's life support.
